After hosting the world premiere of his bluegrass musical Bright Star, currently playing to packed audiences on Broadway, The Old Globe welcomes back Oscar, Emmy and Grammy Award winner Steve Martin for another new work. Marking a change of direction for the entertainer, Meteor Shower is a play exploring the anxieties that lie beneath every marriage, but infused with Martin's trademark style of comedy. Leading the cast are Jenna Fischer (The Office) and Greg Germann (Ally McBeal). Gordon Edelstein, who is directing this co-production with New Haven's Long Wharf Theater, has called it "funny, surprising, and grown-up in the best ways."

A dazzling meteor shower lights up the sky over Ojai, California, and married couple Norm and Corky invite their neighbors over to watch. By the end of the night they might wish that they hadn't. As the wine begins to flow and the evening takes one unexpected turn after another, it seems that the night-time display might just have affected both couples' sanity...
