Motley Crue and Def Leppard with Poison

Motley Crue and Def Leppard with Poison at PETCO Park

Why see Motley Crue and Def Leppard with Poison?

Stadium tour 2022

Heavy metal hellraisers Motley Crue have never been a group to play by the rules and it looks like this legendary outfit are still up to their old antics as head on a new Stadium tour, five years after their definitely-the-end Farewell jaunt wrapped up! This awesome resurrection sees the boys joined by some of their finest peers, including Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett. If that's not enough for fans to forgive, we don't know what is...

Motley Crue

Riding the first wave of glam metal, the band formed in 1981 and quickly gained a reputation for their hedonistic lifestyle and rock'n'roll personas - tattoos, prison stints and drugs, these guys have seen and done it all. With a back catalog comprised of 9 lick-laden, hard-rocking studio albums and a penchant for an over-the-top live show, Crue are true legends of Rock.

Def Leppard

Titans of the 80's British Heavy-Metal revival and progenitors of contemporary Pop Metal Def Leppard have never let anything stand in their way, even their drummer Rick Allen losing an arm to a car accident. Overcoming this with a custom kit and a new style of drumming, the band surged on to create the album 'Hysteria', which hit 12 times platinum in US sales and sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

Poison

Hair-metal icons and Pennsylvania natives Poison have been rocking hard since 1983. No strangers to touring with both Def Leppard and the 'Crue, they've been on the road extensively for the better part of the last decade. Whilst the line up may change (still led by frontman Bret Michaels) the soul and glam-rock spirit is more present than ever!

Joan Jett

Since co-founding pioneering all-girl punk outfit The Runaways in 1975, Joan Jett has marched, and played flaming rock riffs, to the beat of her own drum, emerging as one of the most important and influential female figures in rock and roll history. Never allowing her gender to overtake the agenda, Jett broke through to the mainstream with stripped-down, good old fashioned, loud and hook-laden songwriting and continues to rule the stage with her backing band the Blackhearts, with whom she released seminal cover 'I Love Rock 'n Roll' in 1982.

Worth the 2 year wait!

The lineup was Joan Jett, Poison, Motley Crue and Def Leppard. Felt bad for Joan Jett, people treated her like a basic opener with about 1/4 of the seats filled during her half hour. Poison sounded great, seemed to not play a couple of the songs we know them for. Motley Crue put on a show with an elaborate stage setup, women dancing, clouds of colored smoke, lights, lasers, etc. By comparison, Def Leppard was a very simple setup with mostly just the musicians, no extra theatrics wanted or needed. At one point Crue had the crowd put their phone lights on, and the stadium looked very cool with all the little lights going. Musically, Def Leppard brought people to their feet, closing the show with 4 of the their biggest hits. My viewpoint was from high in the upper deck. The sound was clean, loud but not overpowering. Lead singers for all but Joan Jett were a little muffled. Bands had excellent energy. Poison must have said San Diego about 30 times.... :-) ... Read more

Amazing show.. my sons loved it, only and biggest issue was my ticket stated 5pm show time. Come to find out Joan Jett started at 4pm. Which really sucked I missed Joan Jet played. Proformance of Motley, Poison and specially Def Leppard brought me back in the days of Rocking out and to experience the show with my 22 and 11 yr old son, was awesome, just wished the time was correct so we could see Joan Jet along with the rest. Have the ticket stating start time at 4pm and not 5pm. ... Read more

The stadium tour in San diego

Joan Jett was awesome! So was Poison, to my surprise. Motley Crew was awful, in most of our groups opinions, too loud and sexist. And, Tommy Lee’s comments about exposing your “manhood” was just weird. Def Leppard was okay so we left during their stint to beat the exiting of the masses. It was nice to get out again after Covid. The venue, Petco Park, was amazing plus, we were 40 in a suite. Definitely a plus with private accommodations. Glad to see San Diego’s, famous, Hodad’s hamburgers 🍔 on site. Rarely a meat eater but tonight we treated ourselves! ... Read more
