First concert after Covid lockdown
Future Islands picked up right from where they were before the shutdowns - In fine form. The band was tight and clean, emotive frontman Sam Herring’s voice was strong and watching his command of the stage was like watching a Shakespearean actor play Hamlet. You can’t take your eyes off his performance. The crowd stood for the entire show and were rewarded with beautiful music and a compelling performance from Future Islands. You have to see them to believe.
Distant arrival for Future Islands
I'm a fairly recent fan of Future Islands, a little more than a year. I live in Tyler, I still come to Austin area a couple of times a year, but I kinda miss the old AWHQ days. This is my first time at Stubb's, loved it. This venue of a renovated group of old builds was so Austin( cool to the max). Words can't illustrate what this veteran east coast group brings. Ever song sounds as good as on CDs(I know...I'm dating myself). I was a huge fan before, even more so now.
